Hello, my name is Andrea Holmes, National Director with Pure Romance and this is my story.

Probably like some of you reading this, I knew that I’ve always wanted to work for myself since I was a little girl. I always wanted to be my own boss, but was never sure what I wanted to do. I also knew that I wanted to meet my prince charming, get married and be a stay at home mom. Every little girl’s dream, right?

So I went to college, was married and divorced by the ripe age of 21 and then when I was 24 I found myself pregnant and not married. What was I to do? I did what I thought was the right thing at the time and married the dad, but that only lasted about a year until I found him cheating on me. So there I was a single mom with a one year old daughter and found myself moving back in with my parents to get back on my feet.

Not exactly the dream I had planned. I had to find a job and put my daughter in daycare, which was the last thing I wanted to do. Jump ahead two years and I finally got back on my feet. I had a great job making $50,000 a year wearing many hats for a growing ad agency. But my daughter was still in daycare and I just wasn’t happy. I showed up to work late everyday and just really didn’t want to be there.

I was driving home from work one day and heard a commercial on the radio for Pure Romance. This really got my attention because I thought, hmmm, a direct selling company advertising on the radio? So I went home and went online right away to check them out. I was immediately impressed that they were so classy. I got my information in the mail and was ready to sign right away. But, in the past I had sold Tupperware, Mary Kay, Lia Sophia and Partylite and nothing ever became of those things, so I was leery about spending money on another business kit. I then held my first party and we laughed so hard. I had more fun than I’ve had in a long time. That night I signed up. That was over 6 years ago.

Just two years into my business I was able to quit that full-time job. I’ve been on a Board position with the company for over five years and my team of about 150 consultants nationwide is on track to hit over $1 million in retail sales in 2011.

I am so grateful that Pure Romance found me that one day while I was driving home from my J.O.B. Pure Romance has truly changed my life! As a single-parent of an nine-year-old little girl, I am now able to spend quality time with her based on my schedule. I no longer have to miss out on the little things, like participating in field trips and helping out at school. We are able to enjoy all her days off school together and she no longer has to go to daycare. I am also fortunate enough to be able to afford private schooling for her, which is something I’ve always wanted to do and now I don’t have to pinch pennies to make that happen.

Sure, I’ve been on extravagant trips with Pure Romance (Hawaii, St. Maarten, Italy), earned beautiful jewelry and even a $10,000 cash bonus, but nothing is a better reward than being able to watch my beautiful daughter grow up and be there for every important moment.
